Dr Maria Wasique is Board-certified as an Internal Medicine physician, speaks fluent Urdu and English, and has over 20 years of clinical experience.
Dr Wasique’s mission is to provide patients with personalized care that addresses their individual needs and concerns. She believes in treating the whole person, not just the physical symptoms but also the emotional and social factors that influence health and well-being.
She finished her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Oklahoma, Tulsa in 2004. She later worked as a Hospitalist for a few years before relocating to Virginia; Here, she worked at Reston hospital and also at Inova Urgent clinic in out-patient setting. In 2010, she started her private practice in Ashburn.
Dr Wasique became interested in internal medicine because it offers a broad spectrum and all aspects of medicine integral to well-being of a person. She takes a special interest in the management of preventive medicine and women’s health.
In her spare time Dr Wasique likes to cook, play piano, and spend time with her husband and four children.
Dr. Maria specializes in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and arthritis. As a board-certified internist, she also provides preventive care, women’s health services, and urgent care for a variety of acute medical issues. Her affiliations with Reston Hospital Center and Inova Fair Oaks Hospital ensure patients have access to the best possible care both in-office and during hospital visits.
Dr. Wasique is known for her compassionate, personalized care. She takes the time to listen to each patient’s concerns, ensuring that treatment plans are tailored to individual needs. Her patients often commend her ability to explain complex medical conditions in a clear and reassuring manner.
